Current Work

Rachel Huntsborne is currently querying her first, full length novel, Reality Filter, an urban fantasy set in West Yorkshire.

'Centuries ago, when magic brought humans to the brink of war, the Reality Filter was created. Not only did it protect the humans from themselves, but also from a handful of magical beings intent on causing them harm.

Sick and tired of her things going missing, thirty-three-year-old Kelly, is determined to investigate. She expects to find a mundane explanation, but instead she breaks her Reality Filter and discovers that magic is real. Now she can see what is really there.

As an assistant psychologist, she spends her days treating people for delusions, but now with three imps following her around, she questions her own sanity. To make matters worse, she discovers an ancient Shadow is feeding off emotions, tormenting her patient, Geoff.

​

As the only human to break the filter, Kelly is the sole person who can save him. But if the Shadow learns that she and the imps plan to stop him, he will kill them all. The stakes are high; if she fails, she and Geoff will die. Kelly must face her own fears if she hopes to succeed.'

Work has already begun on Book 2.

Not satisfied with, well anything to be honest, Rachel is also working on a Space Opera, a psychological thriller, and attempting to beta read for several other wonderful authors.
